Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she gained her first the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. Ari Lennox continued uploading her music online as well as her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Later in the year, her music was played around Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had been hired with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then on the 9th of November she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two singles more were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, a music video was released to promote the song. The track has received more than three million hits on YouTube within the first week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
